While Ram Trucks is working on the next-gen 1500 light-duty pickups for the 2018 model year, 2017 brings us yet another special edition of the workhorse. Here is the Night Package.
To the half-ton offering of the Ram Trucks range, the Night Package adds a customized look, emphasized on blacked-out details. Compared to the Ram 1500 Black Express from 2013, the Night pack is a bit more sophisticated.

“Much like our incredibly successful Ram Rebel, the Ram 1500 Night fills the growing customer demand for factory-custom trucks,” explains Mike Manley, the head honcho of the Ram pickup truck brand. “The new Ram Night package builds upon the Ram Sport – one of the best looking trucks on the road – and adds black-out details that custom truck enthusiasts revere.”

Being based on the Sport, the 2017 Ram 1500 Night pack takes delight in a body-color fascia and rear bumper, dual chrome exhaust tips, black-bezel projector headlamps with LED accents, and black bezel for the tail lamps. Inside, the standard goodies list continues with heated bucket seats, power-adjustable pedals, and automatic dual-zone climate control, among others.

Per se, the Night Package improves the Sport model with black grille surround with black pattern inserts, Ram Rebel-inspired blacked-out lettering on the tailgate, black badges everywhere, 20 x 9-inch gloss black aluminum wheels, and P275/60 R20 all-season tires. Of course, a options can be further added.

Factory-spec and Mopar-branded extras include highlights such as the cold-air intake, cat-back exhaust system, air suspension, dual-purpose bed extender/divider, performance hood, and black running boards. Lastly, Night pack buyers are given a limited choice in terms of exterior colors: Flame Red, Granite Crystal Metallic, Bright White, Bright Silver Metallic, and Brilliant Black.

Pricing isn’t available at the time of writing. On the upside, Ram Trucks tells that the Night Package can be specified on Regular Cab, Quad Cab, and Crew Cab models, in both 2- and 4-wheel-drive, regardless of bed length or engine. Still, the way this workhorse looks is best complemented by the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 powerplant, not the entry-level 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine.
