Rumor has it the 2016 Lincoln MKS could be offered with a new 2.9-liter EcoBoost V6 engine (codenamed Nano) that delivers about 300 horsepower.
This piece of information comes via Car and Driver, who adds that the Ford Taurus-based flagship will retains its current 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which is expected to develop at least 365 HP.
In addition to a brand new mill, the 2016 Lincoln MKS is also scheduled to receive the nine-speed automatic transmission that’s being jointly developed by Ford and General Motors.
Moving on to its design, the new MKS is expected to borrow some cues from the MKC crossover and be fitted with the company’s newly-revealed Black Label interior. The new features and technology will increase the price by a few thousand dollars from today’s $41,320 sticker.
Meanwhile, Ford is planning a 10-year investment that will turn Lincoln into a true luxury brand.
