Honda let the world know their third-generation Pilot SUV will go on sale next month in the United States after its official unveiling in February, during the Chicago Auto Show.
When we first saw the Honda Pilot in the metal, it struck us as a more lightweight car than its predecessor. The SUV also comes in a more attractive package from a visual point of view, but we didn't know how much Honda was asking for that bundle.

Luckily, the Pilot is scheduled to go on sale in June, which means we have official pricing for the vehicle. To start with, the new generation will only cost $125 more than the previous one. As a result, you can get a brand new 2016 Honda Pilot for a starting sticker - nevermind the psychological pricing - of $29,995.

For that kind of money, you get the base LX model equipped with a six-speed automatic gearbox, push-button start and the Lane Watch safety feature. Move a step up and you'll find the EX and EX-L models, along with a more generous list of features.

EX models start at $33,310, while, for the EX-L trim level, your wallet will have to provide $36,785. However, the EX-L trim level offers leather upholstery, a moonroof, the Intelligent Traction Management system, a power tailgate and heated front seats.

Touring and Elite ditch the six-speed automatic transmission to favor an improved nine-speed auto unit, and the visual department is enhanced by 20-inch wheels. Those sitting in the back can enjoy a rear entertainment system, but the sticker is set at $41,900.

The range-topping Elite trim is, of course, the most expensive, but this is where the goodies are. For $47,300, Honda provides the Pilot SUV with LED headlights, blind spot sensors plus a heated steering wheel.

Expect the new 2016 Honda Pilot to arrive in dealerships around June 18.
