Toyota's A-segment city cruiser is in for another trim level enhancing treatment, after the summer-oriented X-Wave soft top therapy. Meet the Aygo X-Cite and a lot of blue.
Before getting into specifics, make sure you are comfortable with the colour shade Toyota calls Cyan Splash. Why, you might ask? Well, because it's everywhere.

On the outside, the blue-greenish Aygo combines the color scheme mentioned above with the familiar Piano Black used for the X dominating the car's frontal area. Black is also found on the side mirrors as well as on the redesigned 15-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with, you guessed it, Cyan Splash center caps.

Going inside the cabin means more Cyan Splash for the eye, as Toyota embroidered the Aygo X-Cite with air vent inserts, seat bolsters, and upper door panels painted in the same tone. Bold Black is also present here on the instrument panel, center console and around the gear lever.

One more important add-on brought by Toyota on the Aygo X-Cite is the Toyota Safety Sense package launched some time ago on the RAV4 Hybrid SUV. We previously detailed the exact features offered by the pack one of our auto guides, but you need to know that for the Aygo X-Cite, we're talking about an optional equipment.

Under the hood, the same 69 HP 1.0-liter VVT-i petrol engine will animate the Aygo X-Cite, combined with a manual transmission or the ‘x-shift’ automated gearbox.

According to Toyota, 70,000 Aygo units were sold in Europe until now. Expect the X-Cite version, however, to reach dealerships from June 2015 onwards. So far, no official price tag was released.
