Well, Toyota says the new Aygo model has been designed with young buyers in mind which means it's influenced by Japanese teen fashion, new-age music, robots and manga. That is kinda true if you take a look at this new video that puts the car right in the middle of a manga adventure.
The design team behind the new Aygo counts sufficient manga fans, including chief designer David Terai who confessed he’s a devotee of the classic Astro Boy manga character. And with the occasion, a video and a limited edition print comic were created to pay homage to the team’s inspiration.
To make the introductions, the short clip presents a city that’s being torn apart by some sort of Godzilla-like creature and the authorities are overwhelmed, as always. Luckily, the Heroine and her mighty orange Aygo manage to locate the beast using a dinosaur icon on the infotainment display and cut it in pieces using the big X on front of the car, which, surprise, is made by a crossed pair of high-strength blades.
The short movie has been made by manga artist Sonia Leong and animation team U-R-ILL, being edited by Mark Gravil. You can check it out right past the jump.
