2015 SEAT Toledo Receives LED Headlights

Here's one that probably escaped your radar. Since SEAT was too busy with the Paris reveal of the Leon X-Perience and the subsequent launch media event in Spain, it didn't have time to drum up excitement for the 2015 Toledo, a sedan which will pretty much sell by itself.

Without releasing an official press release in English, SEAT has just launched the 2015 Toledo, featuring slight updates. The Toledo is of course a small sedan model that shares its platform and most of its bodywork with the Skoda Rapid, the two also being assembled in the same factory. However, the Toledo is the first of the two to receive full-LED headlights, built using the technology developed for the Leon compact hatchback and estate.

Besides adding the headlights, SEAT also felt the need to elaborate on the taillights' design, making them look similar to the Ibiza. A few changes were also made inside, where the Toledo gets a new multifunctional steering wheel and two brushed aluminum trim pieces, one for the dash and the other for the radio surround.

LEDs produce more light than standard headlights and use less power. SEAT says they cut 50% of the electricity consumption and reach a color temperature of 5,300 Kelvin. However, they are not standard. Available on the Toledo Style, the LED headlights cost €1,030 extra.

As a quick reminded, we'll tell you that the Toledo was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012. Its technically a 5-door car and measures 4.48 meters long with a wheelbase of 2602mm. Engine choices include 85 and 105 horsepower versions of the 1.2 TSI, a 122 hp 1.4 TSI and twi versions of the 1.6 TDI diesel, with 90 or 105 hp.
