Even though the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X has been phased out in multiple markets around the world, the US-spec version lives on with the 2015 model year. The rally-bred sports sedan comes with a host of new amenities packages along with a handful of new standard features throughout the model lineup.
First thing's first - all trim levels get as standard heated side view mirrors with integrated turn indicators, along with a drop cup holder with lid. The entry-level model's standard features include Bluetooth connectivity for your mobile phone, iPod compatibility and an USB slot for your favorite MP3s, voice command, automatic climate control, as well as leather on the steering wheel which is adorned with buttons for the cruise control and stereo.

The GSR trim level can further be enhanced with a Premium Package that includes Sight and Sound Package plus leather-wrapped and heated Recaro bucket seats, a power glass sunroof, better sound dampening and piano black detailing on the front console box. If you go for the range-topping MR model, you get a 9-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system, auto dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights, as well as color-keyed heat extractor vents, bright front grille and beltline molding.

Every 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution model is powered by a turbocharged 2-liter engine based on the design used by the Japanese manufacturer's World Rally Championship cars. Rated 291 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque from 4,000 rpm, this mill can be mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed Sportronic Shift automatic. The latter is a twin-clutch design that utilizes wet clutches for faster shifts.

With great power comes great responsibility or so we've learned from a Spider Man movie. Nevertheless, that oomph is kept in check by a high-tech all-wheel drive system with active yaw control, active center differential and other gizmos bred for the World Rally Championship. Furthermore, Yokohama Advan asymmetrical performance rubber is wrapped around 18x8.5-inch Enkey cast-alloy wheels (on the GSR) or BBS forged-alloy rims (on the MR model). As for stopping power, the braking system features four-piston calipers with 13.8-inch rotors at the front and two-piston calipers with 13-inch diameter rotors at the rear.

Pricing has yet to be confirmed for the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, but we expect the MSRP to hike a little over last year's $35,805 (destination included) for the GSR and $39,005 for the MR.
