Volkswagen is introducing the 2014 Jetta TDI Value Edition in the United States. Based on the Jetta S, the Value Edition starts from $21,295, which makes it $2,330 cheaper when compared to the standard Jetta TDI.
The vehicle is powered by the company’s 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel engine and adds electric power steering, 16-inch steel wheels, heated cloth seats, cruise control, MDI, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and two additional speakers to the Jetta S content.

The base $21,295 comes with a manual transmission, but customers can select a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission for an extra $1,100.

Speaking of the 2014 Jetta, the sedan has earned a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), joining the Passat and the Beetle coupe, the company’s other two 5-star vehicles for 2014.

In related news, the German company announced the introduction of the 2014 Passat Sport in the US, which is based on the 2013 Passat Performance Concept and goes on sale later this year from $27,295.
