Volkswagen has announced the introduction of the 2014 Passat Sport, a production version of the Passat Performance Concept showcased at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show a year ago.
Based on the SE and slotted between the said trim and the sange-topping SEL Premium, the 2014 Passat Sport comes with 19-inch Luxor wheels, a rear spoiler, a unique interior with sport comfort seats, carbon trim accents, aluminum sport pedals, paddle shifters for the automatic version, stainless steel door sills, and Sport-specific floor mats.
Other features that come with the SE trim the Passat Sport is based on include Volkswagen Car-Net, Premium VIII touchscreen sound system, automatic headlamps, rearview camera, heated front seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Available in three exterior colors, Candy White, Tungsten Silver and the exclusive Urano Gray, the Passat Sport is motivated by the company’s new 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The mill can be connected to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2014 Volkswagen Passat Sport goes on sale in early 2014 with pricing starting at $27,295 for the manual version and $28,495 for the automatics.
