The new MINI Hardtop models that will be coming out this year are now almost completely revealed. After the unveiling of the new 1.2-liter engine for the One model, the Brits also unveiled the specs of the One D.
The entry-level diesel model will be using a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged unit making 95 HP and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque from 1,496 rpm. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration takes 11 seconds and the average fuel consumption is rated at 3.4-3.5 l/100 km (68 mpg). CO2 emissions are rated at 92 - 95 g/km (98 - 99 for the automatic).
Compared to its predecessor that used a 1.6-liter unit, this model lost 3 HP but gained 67 Nm (49 lb-ft) of torque also returning a lower fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions (127 grams for the old model, below 100 for the new one).
