MINI Owners Talk about the Likes and Dislikes of the 2014 Model

The guys from What Car had the chance to get a couple of new MINIs into their garage and invite a few MINI owners over there to offer their take on the new model, before anyone else.

This is the sort of perfect exercise to see exactly how the new car will be welcomed, since the people involved in the experiment are the ones that actually own a MINI and know what problems it has, as they encounter them everyday.

Of course, most of them noticed immediately that the new models are bigger and more spacious, the interior design was changed and offers more comfort and leg room in the back, and the new infotainment system. The more upscale materials used and the premium feel were also noticed almost instantly.

They couldn’t talk about the engine now but as soon as test drives will be available, they’ll notice the advantages of the 3-cylinder 1.5-liter units.

As for the complaints, some talked about the options’ prices, other about the reverse selector (that one was weird) and even the lack of a touch sensitive screen. Almost all of them are valuable inputs that might be introduced on future models.
