Now that the SEMA show has brought the 2014 COPO Camaro upon us, it’s time to talk about its two powerplants being offered as crate engines.
The move brings the COPO crate engine line-up to a total of five units. Thus, the 2014 COPO Camaro’s new 350 cubic inch (5.7-liter) and 396 cubic inch (6.5-liter) naturally aspirated V8s join the club. The list also includes a 427 cubic inch (7-liter) naturally aspirated unit, as well asa two versions of a supercharged 327 cubic inch (5.3-liter) V8. The first features a 2.9L Whipple twin-screw supercharger, while the seconds comes with a 4.0L Whipple charger.

“The COPO Camaro contingent was strong at the first Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals in 2013 and we expect an even larger turnout with the new cars in 2014,” says Jim Campbell, GM U.S. vice president of performance vehicles and motorsports. “The new engines will make the racing more exciting and COPO drivers more competitive.”

While you can get your hands on the 2014 COPO Camaro’s engines, we’ll remind you that the vehicle itself is a limited edition. As in the previous two years of the COPO Camaro, only 69 units are set to be built.
