Drag racing legend John Force won the 2013 NHRA Funny Car Championship on Sunday after defeating his 25-year-old daughter in the final round at the Las Vegas Speedway.
The 64-year-old drove his Castrol GTX Ford Mustang to a 4.062 seconds quarter mile at 310.63 miles per hour in the final round, while Courtney Force crossed the line inches away with 4.085 seconds and 319.22 miles per hour.

"This is probably the most stress I've ever had," John Force said. "I just gave the worst top end interview I ever did (because) I couldn't believe that we got here. Racing my daughter in the final with the championship on the line. She wanted to win but, at the end of the day, the fans won."

By winning Sunday’s race, his third straight win of the season, John Force secured his 16th NHRA Funny Car championship, a record in the series. The win also marks Force’s 10th title with Ford, 75th victory in a Mustang and 138th career win.
