2013 Ford Fiesta Durability Testing Is Impressive!

If you’re in the market for superminis right now, you could say that you’re spoiled for choice. There’s the new Clio, the new 208 and a number of refreshed models. You’d be forgiven for thinking that your best choice is something German, like the cheap-ish Opel Corsa.
However, Ford’s new Fiesta is just as “German”. Even though it’s not a brand new platform, this new Fiesta manages to impress us in every way possible. It’s a capable car offering very good interior space for this class.

We’ve always known that Ford is mental about testing its cars for durability, but nothing like this. From what we recall, the engine in the old Focus was tested to last at least 150,000 kilometers, but they’ve taken things much further with the Fiesta.

This latest video shows us that 840,000 kilometers of new Fiesta durability testing were conducted. That’s not been done one one single car, but just watch the sort of torture it’s been put through and you’ll be instantly impressed.

Ford’s durability engineers say the car will stand up to 240,000 of road use and 10 years in service, longer than you’re probably going to keep the car.
