Ford saw a substantial 27 percent sales increase in Canada that catapulted the company to the number one spot in May and for the year to date. Among the noteworthy results, demand for pickups increased substantially as did that for the Taurus (339%).
Demand for frugal passenger cars, however, was what pushed demand upwards, as Ford car sales were up 31 per cent in May with increases from Ford Fiesta, Focus, Mustang, Fusion and Taurus.

“Consumers continue to look to Ford for quality cars with great fuel economy,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “From the fun Fiesta and Focus to the sporty Mustang and the spacious Fusion and Taurus, we have an outstanding car to suit every Canadian.”

“May was a good growth month for Ford of Canada, with strong sales across the entire lineup of cars, utilities and trucks,” said Craig. “We continue to offer our customers the power of choice, allowing them to choose from a wide range of fuel-efficient vehicles that meet their needs.”

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
