Subaru is recalling 69,590 units of the 2011 Legacy and Outback models to an issue with the moonroof glass, which can cause this to detach while driving. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the glass of the moonroof wasn’t properly adhered to the retainer, so it is possible for it to come off while driving.
"The moonroof glass comes loose or off," an NHTSA statement reads. "The amount and position of the adhesive between the glass and retainer was inadequately applied. The moonroof glass can loosen and detach from the vehicle during driving, resulting in a potential road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash."
Owners should take their cars to their dealers where the glass adhesion will be inspected, with specialists applying extra adhesive or replacing the part, with the campaign set to debut in October. You can contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783.
We have to note the the 2011 Legacy and Outback had already been recalled earlier this week, while the 2010 and 2011 MY have been recalled three times last year.
