We really didn’t expect Vauxhall to unveil the brand new Astra VXR today, because if we knew, we’d go round hugging random people on the street. Swop a few badges, and you have the Astra OPC, also revealed today for the customers in the rest of Europe, who aren’t used to driving on the left side of the road.
The big story about this car is that they’ve done it right. It has more power than the Megane RS and Focust ST at 280 hp and it as fast as a any electronically limited German saloon - 250 km/h or 155 mph.

Design wise, you have the usual sculpted chin and the triangular fog light housings , plus a set of enormous OPC wheels to scare away any competition.

The old Astra OPC used to have really strange handling that wasn’t really going to get you where you were going on a track. But the new one has the High Performance Strut suspension system to take care of business up front and for the first time a limited slip differential.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
