2011 Honda CR-V Debuts, Special Edition Announced

The North American division of Honda introduced today the 2011 model year of the CR-V, which also sees the addition of a new special edition model. The car therefore will come available with a choice of four trim variants, each offered in either FWD or Real Time 4WD.

Standard comfort and convenience features on the CR-V LX include air conditioning with air-filtration system, keyless entry, tilt-and-telescopic steering column, cruise control, power windows with auto-up/down driver’s window, power door and tailgate locks, AM/FM/CD audio system with four speakers, fuel economy meter and 17-inch steel wheels.

The CR-V SE adds or replaces to the CR-V LX features such as a 160-watt AM/FM/6-disc changer with six speakers, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, rear privacy glass and alloy wheels.

The CR-V EX adds to the CR-V SE a one-touch power moonroof with tilt feature, security system, dual-deck cargo shelf, exterior temperature indicator, vanity mirror lights and a digital compass.

Finally, the CR-V EX-L adds or replaces to the CR-V EX features such as leather-trimmed seats and armrests, heated front seats, body colored side mirrors and door handles, XM Radio, an USB Audio Interface and auto on/off headlights.

Colors for 2011 include Opal Sage Metallic, Royal Blue Pearl, Taffeta White, Glacier Blue Metallic, Polished Metal Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Tango Red Pearl and Urban Titanium Metallic. Interior color choices, determined by exterior color, include Ivory, Black or Gray.

Powering the CR-V is a 2.4l 4-cylinder engine that generates 180 hp and 161 lb-ft (218 Nm) of torque. City/highway/combined EPA-estimated fuel-economy ratings are 21/28/24 mpg (11.2/8.4/9.8 l/100km) on 2WD models and 21/27/23 mpg (11.2/ 8.7/10.2 l/100km) on models equipped with Real Time 4WD. Pricing details are yet to be announced.
