This year’s New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) due to be held in April will premiere the 2011 TSX Sport Wagon, Acura announced today. According to Honda’s luxury cars division, the Sport Wagon will join the TSX lineup, which already includes the 4-cylinder and V6-powered sports sedans.
The car is expected to arrive at Acura dealerships in late fall, with pricing due to be announced closer to the market launch.
“The TSX Sport Wagon will offer a new solution to modern utility needs with its balanced and efficient performance coupled with bold styling and versatile cargo capabilities,” a company statement reads.
The TSX Sport Wagon, based on the European spec Honda Accord Tourer, will be introduced at the2010 NYIAS on March 31, 2010 in the Acura booth. The press conference will be webcast live, followed by a Q&A on Twitter via @Acura_Insider.
Acura recently reported sales increase for February, with the new MDX and RDX SUVs posting impressive sales gains. Total Acura sales for February totaled 8,939, up 16.7 percent.
The MDX luxury SUV led Acura’s February sales with 3,266 units sold, up 64.9 percent, while the RDX crossover SUV also posted an increase of 19.9 percent with 850 units sold.
The TL performance luxury sedan led Acura’s car sales for February with 2,410 units sold, down 3.2 percent, while the TSX sports sedan followed closely with 2,123 units sold, down 7.4 percent. Acura’s combined sedan sales were down 6.1 percent, to 4,664, while light-truck sales posted a 58.9 percent gain with total sales of 4,275.
