The guys at CarThrottle are pretty much experts in causing a car-related giggle and this latest episode of 2 guys 1 car happens to be quite good.
It’s about that guy we all know who has saved up all his money and bought a hot hatch. He acts like he’s the king of the world and is quite hypocritical about other drivers. A video which starts with two guys getting naked in a car for the sake of “weight reduction” is guaranteed to be funny. And how about that scene where the driver asks the passenger to take the wheel while he does something else. We know a lot of fine folks who do that or change gears with the opposite hand because they got mayo on the other one.
The Brits probably buy more fast German hatches than even the Germans, so it’s not surprising the hot hatch driver is a stereotype there. But what these two are telling us is true pretty much anywhere you live.
Why? Because the sort of people who like family hatches with 19-inch wheels and body kits are all the same: a bit yobbish. It’s about screaming engines, driving down a winding road at night and eventually crashing through a hedge and/or a tree. It’s the way of the youth, at or at least it used to be. Selfies while driving… now that’s a new thing.
