If you're a diehard Corvette fanboy, you certainly know what the 1969 model year meant for the car. The Vette witnessed record sales in 1969, increasing by over 10,000 units from the previous year to 38,762 units.
The coupe was still the star of the show, albeit the production was split 57-43 for this model year. Over 22,000 Corvettes rolled off the assembly lines with a coupe body style, while 16,633 customers picked the convertible.

A 1969 Chevrolet Corvette landed on eBay earlier this week with an ambitious goal: find a new home and get a complete restoration.

The car has been sitting for 36 years, and seller ssmorley explains that the car was parked in Southern California. It's unclear if the Vette slept inside or under the clear sky, but I don't expect the rust to be a major issue (despite the fiberglass, the Corvette still has many parts that could suffer from this ruthless metal invasion).

The Corvette has lots of good news for someone interested in a solid project for complete restoration. The vehicle is fitted with a matching-numbers 427 paired with a 4-speed transmission. All numbers are correct, and the seller says the engine under the hood is the original unit that came with the car.

Oddly, the seller didn't even mention the mileage in their listing, but one of the shared photos indicates 28,000 miles. It's unclear why they didn't brag about the low miles, but make sure you ask more questions in this regard if you're interested in this Corvette.

The seller says the car is out of the DMV system because it was left unregistered. The engine no longer runs, albeit this is hardly a surprise on a car sitting for nearly four decades.

The interior looks surprisingly good, and while the owner didn't share information about how complete the Corvette continues to be, it doesn't look like anything big is missing. This is good news, as the Vette is unlikely to have served as a donor for another project.

The selling price makes the car even more intriguing, but the owner also enabled the Make Offer option, meaning they're willing to listen to other offers if someone wants the car. However, if you want to buy this Corvette today, you can pay $15,000 and go to Hesperia, California, to take it home.

The Corvette has already caught the attention of many potential buyers, and eBay's statistics indicate that 98 people are already watching the listing. It's unclear if someone is involved in acquisition talks, but I don't expect this Corvette to remain available for long. The listing will expire in 22 days, so you still have enough time not only to discuss all the details but also to pay a visit to the owner and inspect the Corvette in person.
