The popularity of the Impala was skyrocketing back in the early ‘60s, and in 1964, the car was already Chevrolet’s second most expensive model.
With the GM brand becoming more and more focused on making the Impala a major hit, the lineup received additional polishing for pretty much every new model year.

In 1964, for instance, while the styling improvements were minor, the Impala witnessed the return of the 409 V8 as the big-block option in the lineup. It was offered with 340, 400, and 425-horsepower configurations, with the top option obviously fitting the Impala SS like a glove.

This Impala looks like it spent a long time on the side of the road, but this doesn’t necessarily mean anything as far as its future is concerned. The restoration process has already started, and eBay seller oldschool528 says they installed new brake lines and new hoses, new taillights, and so on.

In other words, the return to the original glory days is a matter of time for this Impala, and despite still coming in a rough condition, someone else must now continue what could eventually become quite an easy project.

The most mysterious part of this Impala is the one concerning the engine. The seller claims the car still has an engine and a transmission, but on the other hand, no additional information has been provided.

Without a VIN code, it’s also pretty difficult to at least guess if the car was born with a six-cylinder unit or a V8, and what’s more, we have no clue if the original engine is still there or not.

Coming with lots of extras, this Impala is ready to live under a new roof, and at first glance, it’s also priced to sell. The bidding starts at $2,000, and given a reserve hasn’t been enabled, it’s only a matter of time until the car finds a new home.
