With a production run spanning a very short four years between 1927 and 1931, the Ford Model A acted as the successor to the iconic Model T before clearing the way for the Model B. Subsequently, it also became extremely popular with tuners, especially hot-rodders.
Now, we’ve seen our fair share of spectacular builds involving the Model A, such as that Delivery Van street rod from last February or the 327-ci (5.35-liter) V8-powered classy pickup we showed you a couple of months back. This one, however, might just be in a league of its own when it comes to practicality and complexity.

According to its PJ’s Auto World ad (it has since been sold for an undisclosed price), we’re dealing with a heavily modified 1929 Model A truck, featuring a Daytona Blue exterior, custom chassis, and a 5.3-liter LS V8 engine mated to a 4L60E overdrive transmission.

Other custom bits and features include the ZR2 rear end, rack and pinion power steering, independent front suspension, disc brakes on all four wheels, 15 Torque Thrust II style wheels, and a custom exhaust system with a Flowmaster muffler.

The truck also packs an extended cab (by 3 inches/7.6 cm), chrome mirrors, tinted glass, a custom interior with an overhead console, air conditioning, a Sony AM/FM/CD radio, white gauges, and a swing-open windshield.

However, its most impressive feature must be the bespoke power tilt bed with an electric winch and side storage compartments. The pros of having such a bed are pretty obvious: it’s easier to load and remove heavy items. The cons? Probably the additional maintenance you have to do on the hydraulics.

Overall, this thing looks cool as heck, and that 5.3-liter V8 sounds mighty good too. Here’s hoping its current owner is using this truck for a lot more than just hauling things around. Besides, when it was on sale, it already had 12,714 miles (20,461 km) on the clock, so there's no point in keeping it around only as a collectible.
