1,800-hp Dune Buggy Wheelie Frenzy

Are there any Wacky Races fans around here? We just need a loony crew, because we already have the machine: a 1,800 hp dune buggy. The adjacent video (we must thank Jalopnik for the scoop) allows us to see just what that much muscle can do to Californian sand. As you can see, this vehicle can do wheelies easier and faster than we can write about it and it’s doing this with one turbo tied behind its back. Let us explain.
The power for all the stunts you see in the video comes form a 427 LS V8 that has been twin-turbocharged by Nelson Racing Engines. The unit manages to push the dyno up to 1,800 hp, but out there on the dunes, the turbines were kept in a leash, in order for the frame to survive the fun.

Our say: the Arabs will fall in love.
