If you were to live the life of a firemen for one day, you’d surely hear everything from bears up polls to people stuck in strange places like the tops of cranes. But how about something new and different!
Firefighters were there on the scene to witness a driverless Ford Thunder bird that was spinning wildly in Wildwood, New Jersey this past Sunday.
"We never had to deal with a car going in a circle," Captain Christopher D'Amico told NBC40 news. "We were concerned that it would change trajectory when it was bouncing up on the curb, that the tire would go in an opposite direction and send it into something else."
The owner of the car got out to switch places with the passenger when the gearshifter slipped into reverse. "Soon as they got out, the car took off, they tried chasing it down, obviously, that's how the door got opened," said D'Amico.
The firefighter eventually got in the car and shut off the engine.
