Stop. You’ve been wrong all these years with your evil Civic jokes. The little Honda couldn’t take it anymore, so it used a Hulk-style transformation and will now punish all those who mock Hondas.
Sure, the intro above might sound a bit cheesy, but how else could you describe a Civic that packs a small block and can run 7s quarter mile passes?

This Civic has been lighting up forums for a few years now, with the project having kicked off four years ago. That might sound like a pretty long development time, but once you get to the specs of the machine, it all makes sense.

We’re talking about a tubular chassis, one that incorporates a 434ci V8 up front. The small block works with a pair of Precision 76mm turbos, allowing the driver to play with no less than 1,000 hp.

The unit works with a two-speed Powerglide transmission and a 3.70 final drive, sending its power to the rear wheels.

Oh, and one of the best things about this Honda is that it tips the scales at 2,300 lbs (that’s 1,043 kg for all you reading this across the pond).

As a result, this Civic can play the quarter mile game in 7.84 seconds, and this is just the beginning. The vehicle was present at the Drag Week 2015, but had to pull out of the competition due to technical issues.

However, you can consider its current runs a testing phase. Not only has the Civic just begun racing but the boost hasn’t even been dialed up yet. We're eager to see the contraption returning for the 2016 seasons and we'd be pretty worried if we were its competitors.

And while all the cool bits about this Civic are admittedly not Honda-related anymore, we still love a project that strays so far from the beaten path.
