It was not going to take long until the Chevrolet Corvette C8 hit the used car market. But when we’re dealing with 1 of the 1,000 Champion Edition versions, all enthusiasts tune in to check it out. One of these special ones has just been sold on in an online auction.
So it is a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible C8.R Champion Edition that sold out fast. It was only normal for those who wanted one to check the used car market hoping they would be able to eventually get their hands on one that the owner does not want anymore. Hopefully, not crashed, not flooded.

The car here checks these boxes. Finished in Hypersonic Gray Metallic and Edge Yellow on a Sky Cool Gray and Strike Yellow interior, it comes with a clean Carfax history report, showing no accidents or mileage discrepancies throughout its less-then-two-year lifetime.

And the buyer seems to have specced it the right way. They purchased the IMSA GTLM Championship C8.R Edition, 3LT, and Z51 Performance packages.

The 3LT brings power-folding exterior mirrors, an instrument panel and door cards in leather, heated steering wheel, seats that are heated and ventilated, also sporting lumber adjustment. A color head-up display, the Bose Performance Series 14-speaker audio system, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium System with Connected Navigation are also listed.

Meanwhile, the Z51 Performance Package includes high-performance tires, an electronic limited-slip differential, performance brakes, and performance exhaust system.

The Corvette Stingray sports 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch ones at the rear with yellow-painted brake calipers.

There is carbon fiber just about everywhere. The owner also checked the boxes for the optional Competion sport bucket seats, carbon fiber trim, a sueded microfibre-wrapped steering wheel, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen, and remote vehicle start. No mods have been carried out after purchase, but the window sticker lists so much equipment that you don’t know what to look at first.

The seller, who bought this car in October 2021, was fair and square, telling that there is a scuff on the front splitter.

The C8 Corvette Stingray ticks a lot of firsts

The eighth generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray switched to a mid-mounted engine setup. The 6.2-liter V8 engine with 494 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque is placed right behind the seats for a rear-biased weight distribution. Internally codenamed LT2, the powerplant is mated to an eight speed automatic transmission, spinning the rear wheels.

The power-retractable hardtop is also a first in the Corvette lineup. It was engineered to tow seamlessly into the body of the car. What Chervolet wanted with the hardtop was a quieter cabin and increased safety, plus the coupe-like looks, without making any compromise on luggage space.

It can fold down or rise in 16 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph. All the driver needs to do is press a button.

Bidding on this one started at $65,000 and went through the roof, closing at $101,000. Part of the money from the winning bidder are going straight to the bank, since there is a loan on this car.
