MOTO GUZZI 850 T5 (1983-1987) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 1983, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Moto Guzzi 850 T5, a touring motorcycle built slightly different from previous models. It was followed by the Moto Guzzi 850 T5 NT at the end of 1984.

The 850 T5 model was delivered with sportier lines and a very low bikini faring that covered the headlight and offered low protection to the rider. It also featured new elements, such as a passenger seat, fuel tank, side covers, mudguards, and passenger handle.

Visually, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a front cowl with a single headlight unit, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger bar, side-mounted shock absorbers on the rear, a dual exhaust system, and 16-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels instead of six spokes previously used.

As for the power figures, the 1983 Moto Guzzi 850 T5 had installed an 844cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine with two Dell'Orto carburetors feeding the pistons, delivering 67 hp with a peak force at 7,000 rpm and 73 Nm (54 lb-ft) torque at 5,800 rpm.

In addition, the cylinder and cylinder heads' cooling fins were made square, giving the engine a more modern approach.

As for the stopping power, the bike was fitted with two 320 mm discs on the front coupled to one-piston calipers and a 242 mm disc with a single-piston caliper on the rear.
