MOTO GUZZI 850 T4 (1980-1983) Specs, Performance & Photos

Instead of modernizing the Moto Guzzi V7 850 GT, Tonti and his technical staff used the engine and mounted it into the V7 Sport chassis. Due to a higher handlebar and a large passenger seat, the 850 T model became a touring motorcycle.

The Moto Guzzi 850 T was a touring motorcycle manufactured by Moto Guzzi in 1973. It continued production until 1974 when it was replaced by the Moto Guzzi 850 T3.

In 1980, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Moto Guzzi 850 T4, a touring machine fitted with two brake discs on the front and one on the rear. In addition, the bike was equipped with a large steering cowl.

Its cowl was previously used on the Moto Guzzi 1000 SP. It had a sizeable dome-shaped windscreen that kept the rider away from the blasting wind and matched the motorcycle better than a transparent touring screen.

The 1980 Moto Guzzi 850 T4 had installed an 844cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine underneath its fuel tank. It was managed by two Dell'Orto carburetors and delivered an output power of 69 hp with maximum strength at 7,000 rpm.

In addition, the engine featured Nikasil-coated cylinders and, 41 mm intake valves and 36 mm exhaust valves pointed at a 70 degrees angle from each other.
