MOTO GUZZI 850 T (1973-1974) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Moto Guzzi 850 T was a touring motorcycle manufactured by Moto Guzzi in 1973. It continued production until 1974 when it was replaced by the Moto Guzzi 850 T3.

Instead of modernizing the Moto Guzzi V7 850 GT, Tonti and his technical staff used the engine and mounted it into the V7 Sport chassis. Due to a higher handlebar and a large passenger seat, the 850 T model became a touring motorcycle.

In addition, thanks to the stiff fork with a short suspension travel on the front and a sturdy double-cradle steel frame, the bike retained the excellent steering characteristics of the V7 Sport model. Also, the 850 T was fitted with a brake disc on the front.

In the visual department, the bike had standard elements, such as a round headlight on the front with instruments mounted on top, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, side-mounted rear shocks, a dual exhaust system with a silencer on each side, and wire-spoke wheels.

The bike glided on 18-inch wheels fitted with a 300 mm brake disc on the front and a drum braking unit on the rear, offering optimum stopping power.

As for the power figures, the 1973 Moto Guzzi 850 T had its heartbeat set by an 844cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine fed by two Dell'Orto carburetors, delivering an output power of 59 hp with a peak force at 6,800 rpm.
