KTM 950 Adventure (2003-2004) Specs, Performance & Photos

The KTM 950 Adventure was a dual-sports motorcycle manufactured by KTM between 2003 and 2006. The bike was also known as the KTM LC8 Adventure and was produced until 2006 when it was replaced by the KTM 990 Adventure.

In 2003, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer released the KTM 950 Adventure, a motorcycle in its first year of production, which came with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and an on/off switch.

The bike had standard features in the visual department, such as a half fairing with a single headlight unit, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab handles, a small luggage rack, a high-mounted exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels.

It was built around a powder-coated tubular chromoly space frame with a 48 mm WP inverted telescopic fork on the front and a WP-PDS spring-preload-adjustable shock absorber on the rear, providing excellent handling capabilities.

The braking power was handled by two 300 mm discs on the front coupled to dual-piston calipers and a 240 mm disc on the rear tied to a dual-piston caliper, offering excellent stopping performance.

As for the power figures, the 2003 KTM 950 Adventure had installed a 942cc four-stroke liquid-cooled two-cylinder engine underneath its fuel tank, delivering an output power of 102 hp at 8,000 rpm and 97 Nm (72 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.
