Since we have all the numbers on the table, we thought it would be a good idea to take a look at how China sales evolved over the last month, as BMW claims it will soon become its biggest market worldwide.
Overall, in Asia, BMW automobiles demand grew by 27.9 percent, adding up to 48,620 vehicles, compared to last year's August that recorded only 38,022. Of course, Mainland China accounted for most of these cars.

The communist country accounted for 34,166 cars, an increase of 34.6 percent compared to last year's 25,377. Another big increase was recorded in South Korea, where sales increased by 37.7% to 3,810 units.

Year-to-date, Asia is the biggest market for BMW, adding up to 367,441 units, out of which 249,160 went solely to Mainland China, almost 16,000 more than in the US, as officials predicted.

"Today we presented new models such as the BMW 4 Series Coupé and the third generation BMW X5, which will provide for additional momentum towards the end of the year”, said Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Sales and Marketing BMW, at the 65th International Motor Show in Frankfurt/Main.
