August is gone and the numbers for the last month of summer are pouring in. In the US, BMW managed to surpass its main German rivals, selling more cars throughout the 8th month of this year.
Overall, the BMW Group sold 30,630 units in the USA, whilst the runner-up, Mercedes-Benz, managed to sell only 27,144 units, whilst the Inglostadt-based manufacturer Audi, managed to sell only 14,005 cars.
Therefore, BMW sold 3,486 units more than Mercedes-Benz and 16,625 units more than Audi, making a clear case for whose number one in the US at the moment. This comes as little surprise though, as Mercedes-Benz already stated that they are not interested in such numbers anymore.
Even so, the number of cars sold is a pretty relevant factor as to which manufacturer do the buyers prefer and trust more, and not necessarily proving anything more than that.
