With over 8000 square meters (86,111 square feet) of exhibition space disposed on three levels, Mercedes-Benz will one again have one the largest, if not the largest indoor exhibition areas from the entire car manufacturers present at this year's edition of the biggest motor show on the planet, the Frankfurt Auto Show.
About 1500 employees have been working for a whole year on planning and building the Germans' appearance for this edition, with 830 metric tons of steel and about 100 kilometers (62 miles) of cabling having been installed in the Festival Hall of the Frankfurt trade fair center. On top of that, over 5,500 square meters (59,200 square feet) of presentation space will also be available on the grounds outside the exhibition center.
The total number of Mercedes-Benz models that will be exhibited will surpass 70 cars, but the really interesting ones are the world premieres, and the Stuttgart manufacturer has just confirmed the following:
Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupe is a near-production looking replacement for the CL-Coupe (C216), which in the future will be part of an expanding S-Class family that will also feature a convertible model.
Mercedes-Benz GLA is the latest addition to the MFA (Modular Front-wheel drive Architecture) platform, which now consists of four models (A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA). Another unconfirmed body type will follow in the next couple of years.
