Around since 2005, the the fourth-generation Mitsubishi L200 is expected to get a replacement soon. There’s no word on when the new pickup truck will arrive, but we do know that Mitsubishi is already testing the next-generation vehicle.
The upcoming L200 (known as the Triton in some Asian markets) is currently being tested in Southern Europe, far away from the cold that overtook most of the Old Continent. Unfortunately, the shots were taken from about two kilometers away, with next to no details out in the open. The camouflage doesn’t help either.
However, we think it’s safe to assume that the next-gen L200 will be about the same size as the model it replaces, with no dramatic modifications as far as design is concerned. Powertrain updates will include a slightly more powerful 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine with better fuel economy.
The fifth-generation Mitsubishi L200 should hit the market by 2015.
