Is It a Boat? Is It a Car? Is It Both? Whatever It Is, It Has Just Overtaken You

If you watch the "Pawn Stars" series, you're probably aware with the introduction in which Rick, one of the owners of the pawn shop says that the best part about his job is that you can never know what's going to come through the door next.
Well, it turns out it's pretty much the same with driving on the highway. Normally, you'd expect to see cars of all sorts, motorcycles, buses, and trucks. But that's about it. Sure, if you're in Russia you might get the occasional plane landing or a meteor blazing the sky, but those are exceptions.

Now we all know it rains a lot in England, but they've managed to come up with pretty good drainage systems, so the country is rarely ever flooded. Besides, if it rains a lot, that means you get a constant volume of water coming down instead of a very high flow over a short period, which is what usually causes the problems.

Applying the better safe than sorry principle, a man figured it couldn't hurt to own a boat. But having one without needing it just takes up space, so he decided against buying one. One day, looking at the three-wheeled Reliant he had hanging around the yard, he noticed the somewhat aquadynamic shape of the front part of its body. He had an epiphany.

The product of that revelation is what you can see passing by in this video shot on the A34, in England. It turns out the Clockwork Orange boat car is actually quite famous over there. It's one hundred percent street legal and, even though we haven't seen pictures of it in water, we're pretty sure it's seaworthy. We'd be terribly disappointed if it weren't.

The unstable nature of the Reliant Regal it is built upon could not have been helped by the larger body of the 146 Monbar speedboat its platform was mated with, but rolling over is the last thing you probably worry about in that thing while cruising down the highway. And that's because your mind is occupied completely with the terrifying thought of a crash. The only inflatable protection at sea is a life vest, and it won't substitute an airbag very convincingly.
