Driving Student Has Massive Trouble Figuring Out How Roundabouts Work

The most terrifying thing when driving in England - or any other country where they drive on the left side of the road - is coming to a roundabout. Our brains struggle with the reversed sides all the time, but it's those rounded intersections that really deliver the killer blow.

That's probably the reason why we can empathize more with this learning driver than those two guys in the van behind him. Still, he's just as British as the Queen, so unlike the rest of us who just drive there while on vacation and then get to go back to our normal roads, he's going to have to do it for the rest of his life. So, yeah, there's no real excuse for him.

Other than the fact that we don't know how many lessons he's had before this video was recorded, and if the answer is "not that many," then some leniency is in order. And judging by poor control of the car, we'd say he's not very far into the process of getting a license. Or, if he is, then it'll probably take him a few tries before he actually gets it.

To be fair to the student, though, the two in the cam car are exaggerating a bit. They urge him to jump into traffic even though those gaps were pretty tight even for more experienced drivers. To their credit, though, they never flashed the high beam or honked the horn, and chose instead to film everything (vertically) and just giggle.

Speaking of which, even though you know it's wrong, it's hard not to join in. They find this mildly amusing situation so hilarious (especially when the stalling begins) that they almost need a fresh change of pants. And there's one more thing: given the amount of laughing out loud going on there, the man shows a surprisingly steady hand. For which we are eternally grateful - there's nothing more annoying than a shaky video.
