autoevolution's Ford Month

As far as the auto industry is concerned, 2020 has been Ford’s year more than anyone else’s. During the troubling months that were, the Blue Oval managed to steal the headlines on more than one occasion, as it was for all intents and purposes a very busy little bee when it comes to the release of new products.

Historically, Ford is credited to have made the car popular on our planet. An American businessman by the same name founded in 1901 (that’s exactly 120 years ago) the Henry Ford Company, but it wasn’t until two years later that the Ford Motor Company came to be.

Since 1903, FoMoCo has been at the forefront of car manufacturing. Despite not being number one in terms of sales these past few years (generally, Ford misses the top three and is always behind names like Toyota, Volkswagen, or local foe General Motors), the nameplate somehow manages to be on everybody’s mind one way or another.

Back to it, 2020 was the year when Ford planted some very interesting seeds. There were plenty of them, but we’ll be keeping our eyes in the coming year on two particularly exciting ones: the Mustang Mach-E, and the family of off-roaders that goes by the name Bronco.

It is in 2021 that both will hit the market en force, and we can’t wait for the first customer reviews to come in. Also in 2021, the Mach 1 moniker returns to the Mustang lineup, and we’ll probably get more surprises down the line, coming from both the main Ford brand, but also the company’s other businesses.

Because of all of the above, we’ve decided to kick off the new year with a Blue Oval bonanza, and thus January 2021 becomes "Ford Month" here at autoevolution.
