When you think of a straight-line race involving the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, a C6 Chevrolet Corvette isn't the first competitor that comes to mind. However, the driver of such a 'Vette recently decided to duke it out with the most potent pony the Blue Oval has ever released.
The muscle car and the C6 recently got together as part of an extended competitive sprinting session, with the adventure involving the usual rolling starts.

Nevertheless, these weren't just used to prevent wheelspin or extra stress on the vehicle, but also because stopping on the road could've caused trouble. Please don't use such shenanigans as an example and stick to the drag strip for racing (pun intended).

Since YouTuber Can I Be Frank, who brought this battle to our attention, doesn't mention any aftermarket aspects concerning the 'Stang, we'll assume it came to the battle in factory form. As such, we can talk about a supercharged 5.2-liter Predator motor sending 760 hp and 625 lb-ft (847 Nm) of twist to the rear wheels via a dual-clutch tranny.

As for the C6, we'll start by mentioning this is a model featuring the LS3 V8 introduced back in 2007. Compared to the LS2 it replaced, the former saw the displacement jump from 6.0 to 6.2 liters, while its output went from 400 hp and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) to at least 430 hp and 424 lb-ft (575 Nm).

Nevertheless, the example we have here had been gifted with a 100 shot of nitrous, as well as unspecified bolt-on mods, as mentioned in the title of the video showcasing the race.

It's worth mentioning that the 'Vette also has a considerable weight advantage, with it being around 1,000 lbs (453 kg) lighter than the supercharged brute it went up against.

As a bonus, the clip below also shows the GT500 duking it out with a 991.2-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S (keep in mind that we've already seen the muscle car getting ahead of the supercar in a stock-vs-stock race).
