2021 Ford Bronco “Fastback” Soft Top Saga Continues With Hints of Bestop Trektop

The 2021 Ford Bronco will remain a favorite of the spot the prototype genre for months to come, so the game is on to highlight the strangest possible builds. This Rapid Red example – which may or may not be the same one as the one previously spotted on a rainy day – clearly qualifies for the latter category as it comes with a mysterious take on the factory soft top.

We first noticed this “fastback” Rapid Red 2021 Ford Bronco prototype thanks to a post on bronco6g.com, and now the forum is back with a follow up thanks to some footage captured by a YouTube user.

On a side note, the person that likes to be called Sinister Scat 392 – a big hint that we’re dealing with a Dodge enthusiast – clearly belongs to the odd category of people that, even in 2021, haven’t grasped the difference between landscape and portrait orientation when it comes to shooting videos for different social media venues.

Now, back to the 4-Door Bronco we’re discussing, according to the video’s description, we’re dealing with a soft top example that sports manufacturer license plates. Despite the shaky camera action, both findings are rather obvious since we know that Ford hasn’t delivered a single unit so far and all spotted Broncos are tested in prototype form.

Still, both notes are of consequence when dealing with the “fastback” soft top mystery. According to the details shared on the forum thread, apparently, there’s a Bestop logo adorning the top of the rear window. That could easily mean that Ford is going to include the company among its accessory partners for the 2021 Bronco.

And that’s potentially great news for people who couldn’t make up their minds between the reinvented Blue Oval rock crawler and Jeep’s Wrangler – as Bestop is already offering a great-looking Trektop for the latter model. Thus, having just about the same option on the Bronco would neatly level the playing field between the two rivals in this aftermarket niche.
