We’re not pretty sure the creators of the original muscle cars could’ve seen this one coming: Italian coachbuilder Zagato has decided to dress a Dodge Viper ACR, the mother of modern muscle cars, in an Alfa Romeo body, creating the TZ3 Stradale.

The project is a tribute to Alfa Romeo’s centenary, with this being Zagato’s second Gift for the Italian carmaker - the first one was the TZ3 Corsa, a project based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competitzione, which received the Villa D’Este Design Concept Award last year.

We can’t help notice that we are talking about a 600 hp tribute, as the low hood hides the Viper ACR’s 8.4-liter V10 powerplant. The list of technical goodies also includes a motorsport suspension (the ACR is a beast that likes to hang around the track all day).

But don’t let the pretty face bring you memories from a time when coachbuilidng meant shaping metal with hammers. Oh no. The stunning body you see here was made from carbon fiber, in order to keep the vehicle light and offer it a high level of rigidity.

Zagato announced that it will produce the TZ3 Stradale in a limited run of nine units. So, you’re an [please insert your automotive category here] enthusiast and you have the financial resources to make one of the nine examples yours. Well, you’ll have to fight for this one, as the first three examples of the car have already found their owners.
