Don’t tell me you didn’t dream of becoming a police officer when you were a kid. Of course you did. What was there not to like about the job? Wearing a cool uniform, being in the possession of a gun, chasing perpetrators and putting them behind bars. Sounds like a nice plan. But if your dream did not come true, there is still a chance to play cop. You can get yourself a police car.
First of all, you must know that a civilian can indeed buy a police car in America. The purchase procedure depends on the state where you live. Police cars must generally go through an auction process so that they can be legally bought and owned.

Police cars are usually sold "As Is." The new owner doesn not get any warranties or guarantees. However, the dealer can offer some advantages. But all emergency lights and sirens must be removed before the car gets titled as a civilian vehicle.

So this is what the next owner will have to do with this Dodge Charger which used to be a police car. It still wears the stars and stripes stickers on the sides. There is beacon light up on the roof, which must be taken down. The siren will have the exact same fate once this car belongs to a civilian. No, you can't drive around the city pretending to be a cop!

The car comes with a bull bar up front and a cage for the rear seats, that was designed to keep law breakers locked in there, handcuffed, sitting in seats covered in black cloth, for as long as necessary on the way to the police station.

This 2013 Dodge Charger Pursuit, specifically designed for the American Police Force, comes with the 3.6-liter Pentastar 6, mated to a Daimler-Benz-sourced five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick manual shift mode. It sends 292 horsepower (296 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque to the rear axle.

In its hey days, this four-door sedan right here could do the 0-60 mph run in 7.3 seconds. Top speed was 149 mph (238 kph). Nobody can guarantee it still got it!

The car listed on eBay is, as the sales ad says, in "average condition inside and out, and drives good." The pictures in the listing show some dents on both sides so we can only assume those might be the aftermath of some car chases.

The 2013 Dodge Charger is now for sale for $11,950. The ad says it is a classified ad listing with no bidding. So whoever is interested in playing cop should contact the seller for more information. The car is in Le Grange, Illinois, and the buyer will be responsible for pick-up and shipping.
