Even the world’s richest people must love a good bargain now and then, so here’s a record-breaking sailing yacht offered with a hefty discount, after almost two years on the market. Pink Gin VI has been relisted with another agency, at a steep discount.
Pink Gin VI is the world’s largest carbon-fiber sloop-rigged sailing yacht and was delivered in 2017 by Baltic Yachts. The original owner was Professor Hans Georg Nader, a German businessman and billionaire who is the main shareholder of Otto Bock and Baltic Yachts. The reported construction cost for this award-winning vessel was of $20 million.

With a design by Judel-Vrolijk and an interior by Design Unlimited, this visually-striking and high-performance vessel was last on the market in August 2020, asking €45 million or $45.3 million at the current exchange rate. It has now been listed with Edmiston and it’s asking considerably less: €29.5 million, or $29.7 million. That’s a $15.6 million discount for one of the most famous and gorgeous sailing yachts in the world, which comes with an interior to match.

Pink Gin VI offers accommodation for six guests and a crew of eight and comes with a master suite with a private balcony. Every guest cabin has ensuite bathroom, and the formal dining room lives up to the standards set by some of the bigger superyachts out there, including a custom dining table that doubles as an art piece, custom furniture, a bar, and a grand piano.

Interior finishes are mostly patinated hardwood with plush fabrics and a combination of natural stones and brass. Interior styling is described as eclectic and playful, but also elegant and comfortable.

Pink Gin VI has a total length of 175 feet (53.9 meters) and a sloop rig of 222 feet (67.9 meters) with a sail plan that allows for maximum efficiency even in light winds. Operating solely on the 1,400 hp MAN engine, Pink Gin VI has a top speed of 12 knots (13.8 mph / 22.2 kph) and a range of 2,500 nautical miles (2,877 miles / 4,630 km).
