Widebody C8 Corvette Sticks To The Basics, Looks Spot On

Chevrolet is making sure the 2020 Corvette doesn't exit the spotlights. And how could the world take its eyes off the C8 when the automotive producer has already come up with two fresh incarnations of the mid-engined delight?
I'm referring to the C8 Corvette Convertible, which amazes us by being just 80 lbs less scale-friendly than its fixed-roof counterpart, not to mention the mesmerizing operation of its roof mechanism.

Then there's the stunning C8.R. The racecar has just landed, so we're still not fully aware of its full tech details. For one thing, the vicious soundtrack of the circuit-confined tool shows this might just pack a flat-plane crank, as opposed to the cross-pane crankshaft of the street car.

And if GM invested in developing such hardware, it's likely this will be featured on a future production model. And God knows we're waiting for a bunch of those to come out, with badges such as the Z06 and the ZR1 keeping us awake at night.

Meanwhile, the Internet is still crazy in love with renderings of widebody 2020 Corvettes, which is why I've brought along just that.

Interestingly, while many others pixel plays of the sort go over the top with the aero work, the one we have here somehow sticks to the basics, at least by comparison, which is why it stands out.

Karan Adivi, the digital artist behind the pixel sitting before us, has come up with an approach that seems organic. And since you shouldn't imagine that aftermarket developers ingore the Internet when coming up with new kits, we might just see some of these styling cues coming to life next year, when the new 'Vette hits the road.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Toyota Supra is the star of the modding realm, with the upcoming SEMA show in Vegas set to be a bit of a Supra fest.
