Why Tune an Audi R8? Because ABT

Some say the Audi R8 is not wild enough to be considered a supercar, others that it's just right. For the former, actually buying the car should only be the first step in R8 ownership, as this popular machine created by the quattro division is infinitely customizable.
Take this one for example. Photographed at the Dubai mall by Autogespot collaborator Patrick3331, the R8 is clearly kitted out with a cosmetic package from the German specialists ABT Sportsline.

We've seen that twin-bladed front bumper on a lot of ABT cars, but the "Carbonated" kit that replaces the stock side blades is quite rare. Instead of just having one set of gills feeding the engine with air, this has two, something Audi in their design simplicity never even imagined.

Additions to the rear quarter include a new bumper, a fresh exhaust setup and a large wing.

We're not sure if any of these parts make the car better, especially the (ugly) wheels, but the point is ABT delivers a unique look, and that's basically what everybody wants. Money buys. Tuners tune. End of story!
