Problems such as having to get your Prius charged again, getting your Bronco to the shop for another set of repairs, or simply making enough to buy a new car are regular people issues. For the 2 percent of Earth’s inhabitants, things such as how to make their offshore oil operations be pleasant and comfy are what keeps their minds busy. We’re talking about those who also buy these type of high-end choppers of course.
Even though it’s still under development, the Bell 525 Relentless is meant to change a couple of rules in the game. A super-medium-class helicopter, it was in fact designed to meet the huge demands of offshore oil operations.

But since oil tycoons also use them, the company thought some luxury, high-end options should not miss. The 88-square-foot cabin can be equipped with everything an actual private jet would come with. Let us take a closer look.

Before anything else, the specifics. The 525 Relentless is apparently the fist commercial helicopter with a fly-by-wire cockpit, meaning that instead of working with conventional manual flight controls, it uses an electronic interface.

It also comes with side-stick controls, and a fully integrated touchscreen Garmin flight deck. The list of amenities are there to be discovered for those interested, but let us talk a little about its performance.

500 miles range, 178 mph top speed

Bell Helicopter says their soon-to-be-released model uses advanced aerodynamic design in order to deliver speed, range and handling performance (but don't they all?). We’re talking about an airframe and propulsion system that deliver a 155 knot speed (287 km/h - 178 mph).

With a range of 500 miles (926 km), the 525 Relentless is capable of carrying 2 flight crew and up to 20 passengers.

As for the price, we’re still going to have to wait for an official announcement, but we have the feeling this puppy won’t come cheap. Meanwhile, we’re going to have to make due with the renderings the company recently unveiled.
