Some virtual artists are truly like-minded, and a trio of them worked hard to envision two of the upcoming high-performance business sedans from Germany – the G90 BMW M5 PHEV and the W124-based Mercedes-AMG E 63 S E Performance.
Just recently, a tentative 2025 BMW M5 leak showed the high-performance executive sedan would make use of the same angular design as on the latest M2 – but some things also seemed way out of place, such as the quad exhaust tips looking like minions compared to the diffuser setup. Oh, well, they better get their house in order soon because Mercedes-Benz is not idling with its W124 E-Class derivatives.

Soon, BMW will unleash the M5 alongside its all-new 5 Series and i5, and everyone and their mother – at least across the rumor mill – believes the company will reveal the high-performance sedan as soon as possible, with deliveries taking place in 2024 as a 2025 model year. There's also an M5 Touring in tow to keep the M3 Touring company, and the Audi RS6 Avant will finally have some proper competition.

On the powertrain side, everyone expects the M5 to adopt the plug-in hybrid format with a V8 under the hood and make the BMW XM Label Red proud with equal horsepower or even a little envious if the model arrives with around 800 or 850 ponies on tap. Meanwhile, we have to say with tears in our eyes that Mercedes has made it official – the new AMG C 63 and E 63 models are not getting the V8 back as the process of downsizing will continue.

Instead, the top format will be with a 2.0-liter four-banger in the C 63 and most likely an electrified inline-six integrated with a PHEV system for the E 63 S E Performance – instead of the 4.0-liter V8 and an electric motor like on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance. Oh well, time will tell who will get the most upvotes from fans, right?

Meanwhile, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is doing the right thing – they're imagining the upcoming BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E 63 plug-in hybrids without any technical remorse. For example, the virtual artist tucked behind the AscarissDesign moniker on social media just gave us a crimson BMW M5 to look at from the front (complete with making-of video, too).

If you want the latest leak to sip into the imagined Bavarian sedan, then the car news and renderings outlet germanysfinest43 is ready to make us run amok, laughing our eyes off at the sight of the M5's rear with the itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny exhaust tips! But that's not all, as the M5 has proper competition coming from the parallel universe of CGI.

Nikita Chuicko, the virtual artist better known as kelsonik on social media, thinks now is the right CGI time to fuel our Mercedes-AMG E 63 S E Performance dreams (or nightmares, depending on your POV). And his vision is not as simple and straightforward as presented by other CGI experts – instead, the renderings include a host of Brabus details and even a new set of LED taillights barren of Mercedes' three-pointed stars!

So, what do you think? Should we give our CGI hall pass to the crimson BMW M5 because it doesn't feature those laughable exhaust tips and because it's still a V8-powered hoot? Or should we accept the E 63 S can only be made a little better with help from the aftermarket world and approve its stance instead?
