Nissan is teasing a new model, and the final countdown has started. We are going to see it in just a few hours, and we have some clues about what it might be.
Just a few hours are left until we will be face to face with the new Nissan model. The automaker describes it as "bigger, bolder, and better than ever." Those seeing the video teaser uploaded on social media took a wild guess, anticipating the arrival of the 2025 Nissan Armada. But that is not it.

What we are about to see is the redesigned Kicks, with the refreshed version coming to fight the Chevrolet Trax, Kia Soul, or Hyundai Venue.

The video teaser shows a pair of taillights with a horizontal layout and multiple LED strips, which mirror the shape of the headlights. The latter flank a grille that seems wide and massive.

Nissan also gives us a glimpse of the model's silhouette, and it is clear that we will be dealing with a muscular, yet curvy silhouette with robust shoulders. All these design details match what the spy shots have been showing for the past few months.

The Kicks will borrow styling elements from both the Juke and Rogue while keeping its athletic shape with the sloping roof flowing into a rakish rear window.

The Japanese automaker is not only coming up with a redesigned Kicks, but is also bringing new tech on board the crossover, while marching on with the affordability factor.

We have yet to see if Nissan is going to interfere in the not-so-generous engine lineup. But considering that it is just a refresh, that is going to remain unchanged.

For the moment, the Kicks is powered by the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 122 horsepower (124 metric horsepower) and 114 pound-feet (154 Newton meters) of torque.

The engine is mated to an Xtronic continuously variable transmission, which sends power to the front axle. There is no all-wheel drive option in the lineup, as it is also very rare in the segment.

Nissan is also planning to keep the same trims for the updated Kicks. This means that the lineup starts with the S entry-level version and goes through the intermediate SV, while the SR sits at the top of the range.

We have yet to find out the pricing, but that is probably going to happen towards the date of the market launch. The Kicks is one of America’s most affordable crossovers. The outgoing model starts at $21,050. The range-topping Kicks SR kicks off at $23,610.

Meanwhile, one of its main opponents, the Chevrolet Trax, starts at $20,400, while the Kia Soul comes with an MSRP of $20,190. The Hyundai Venue remains the cheapest in the segment, with a starting price of $19,900.
