Two years ago a brand called Autodromo brought to the world timepieces that take their design inspirations from car gauges from the 1960’s and 1970’s. The company recently unveiled their latest flagship line, the Autodromo Stradale, which looks are inspired by gauges from 1950’s Italian Grand Touring cars. Besides it’s obviously coolness factor, these jewels are still priced under $1,000.
For us petrol heads driving a racing car on the track is probably the most common dream we have. Buying race cars models, T-shirts signed by legendary racers or just follow all the rallies every year are just part of our life. That is why every time a any product like this timepiece hits the market we bite our fists.

Autodromo is an automative lifestyle young brand that all started with a few watches. Founded in 2011 by designer and motorhead Bradley Price, the company meant to capture the spirit of vintage motorsports in products that are modern and wearable. And affordable, we might add.

The Autodromo Stradale line of watches are inspired by gauges from 1950’s Italian Grand Touring cars. As presented by their creator, the timepieces “evoke the age of Gran Turismo, when driving across the continent involved more than hopping on an expressway.” If you’re able to pass the way numbers are put on the dial, having hours from 5-8 being upside down, the overall watch design is beautiful.

The dial features three hands, with a grey hour and red minute hand, having a date window next to the 3 o’clock index. It’s covered with a domed crystal and the see-through caseback gives a glimpse into the inner workings of a Miyota 9015 self-winding automatic movement with hacking feature.

For $875, customers will get a 40 mm stainless steel case watch that is water resistant up to 50 meters. The timepieces come in three colors, grey dial with blue leather straps, black dial with burgundy straps and beige dial with brown leather straps, and every buyer will also receive a vintage 1960’s map along.
