No teen pop star or doll maker will be able to keep from buying one of these once it hits the market. Yes, it’s the highly anticipated new generation of Beetle Convertible!
The people’s car will surely find itself at the top of the sales charts in its category, but only after it’s launched via the Los Angeles Auto Show. But after that, every high school movie in America will feature one!

Why are we so sure about its marketability? Because according to Car & Driver magazine, the Beetle droptop will come in three special-edition retro flavors - ‘50s, ’60s and the ’70s. In Europe, these versions are likely to be actually called the ‘Fifties’ ‘Sixties’ and ‘Seventies.’

It sounds like we’re in for some really cool paintjobs and wheels, plus the obligatory flower decals to promote love and piece.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
